Phenomenal Men Of The Web - OPENING

When I founded The Phenomenal Women Of The Web on March 20, 1997, the thought in my mind was to honor websites - built by women that have achieved excellence. Since then I have received many (understatement) requests to honor phenomenal men of the web.

Please understand and let me make this clear to all: I make no claims to understand men, to think I know what makes them tick, or feel their feelings emotionally. I can only look at the caliber, content and web-mastering skills of their sites - and judge them accordingly.

To that end, I have founded The Phenomenal Men Of The Web. The exact same strict criteria for acceptance is required as for that of TPWomenOfTW. This is a seal and membership given to men on the Internet with outstanding websites. Sites with pages of Excellence, Honor and intelligence. It is not given out to everyone that applies. There are no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place winners. Please don't think of the seal and membership of TPMOTW as an award... it is not - it is a statement - a testimonial of your webmastering abilities.

If you are accepted within this organization, you will recieve a seal of acceptance that you may place anywhere on your website showing the world you are an accepted member of The Phenomenal Men Of The Web. You will be sent a URL to fill in an individual profile with a complete description of your site - plus you may also use a banner from your site - all of which is linked directly to your site both URL and e-mail. Your profile will then be listed in the menu of accepted member sites by the month you are accepted. You will also be eligible to participate in all of the other areas of TPMOTW - such as joining the official webring of TPMOTW.

I have written the creed of TPMOTW. It is what I perceive as the blueprint for a Phenomenal Man.

A good attitude and the consideration of his fellows.
The soul of a man has many tendrils,
That spiral in all directions,
Down many roads.
His path - destiny - and inner drive is his to champion.
He also understands, that his path is not everyone's path,
Diversity and individual cultures are respected.
Bigotry and hatred are unacceptable behavior.
He agrees that it is a crime against anyone to be assaulted.
His strength is not in brawn;
But in the size of his mind,
The intelligence in his reasoning,
The goodness of his heart,
And the beauty he sees in the world around him.
Sharing his soul... is what makes him a Phenomenal Man.
